Main prize (Children’s Poem)                                                    

 School children aged 9 – 15 (grades 4 – 9) are encouraged to write poems in Setswana and submit them at their respective schools or through info@iacso.org.za. The overall winner will receive R20, 000 prize money and computers for his/her school.

 Four runner-ups will receive R2, 500 each.

 Motswako / Setswana Hip Hop (open to everyone)              

Motswako practitioners will compete and deliver verse over the Bua O Itsose Theme beat daily on Motsweding’s Gotetsa Mosha (15:00 – 18:00). The daily winner will go on to compete against new entrants the following day and at the end of the week the overall weekly winner will be chosen by a listener call-in vote on Motswako Wa HipHop show to win R2, 500.  This process will be repeated over 3 weeks while the final winner at the end of 3 weeks will win R5, 000 and a music video for the same beat and lyrics.

Poko/Poetry competition (open to everyone)                                   

Setswana poets will compete and deliver words over the Bua O Itsose Theme beat daily on Motsweding’s Kopa Dilalelo (20:00 – 24:00). The daily winner will go on to compete against new entrants the following day and at the end of the week the overall weekly winner will be chosen by a listener call-in vote on Tsa Etsho show to win R2, 500.  This process will be repeated over 3 weeks while the final winner at the end of 3 weeks will win R5, 000 and a music video for the same beat and words.

Video competition (open to everyone)                                             

Listeners will be able to view and download a reference video of the dance routine that will happen on the 21st of February. They are then encouraged to record themselves imitating the relevant choreography and upload their award winning videos on Motsweding’s Facebook page and website. The video with the most likes at the end of the week will be awarded prize money of R2, 500. At the end of 3 weeks the video with the most likes will win R5, 000. A count tallying system that will allow new videos to compete equally/fairly with videos that have been posted longer will be in place.
