Everything you need to know
Who Is Motsweding Fm?
Motsweding is a listening experience; it is more than all the elements of a conventional radio station. Motsweding is a public broadcaster, utilizing radio frequency as the core medium of communication amongst several other new media platforms.
We deliver content in Setswana utilizing every available major dialect (Sekgatla, SeRolong, SeTlhaping, SeKwena etc). As a public broadcaster, we speak to a Setswana speaking and/or understanding individual with the objective of empowering them by providing information and education that builds their capacity to initiate the necessary changes in the way they view themselves, the world around them and the world they live in.
Motsweding is cultural icon which entertains and provides meaningful release through a mix of programming genres including Music, Drama, Documentaries, Magazine and Variety
Definition Of Strategic Intent
Motsweding FM’s consistent growth in upper LSM’s due to an increase in the older audiences (25–49 demographic) implies a necessity to intensify research and marketing efforts. This fact also necessitates a stronger emphasis on cultural values (Language) and identity. While the majority of the station’s audience is predominantly resident in the NW province, the station will effectively employ cultural identity as positioning factor as opposed to regionalism.
Footprint: North West, Gauteng, Northern Cape, Limpopo and Free State

Obviously Motsweding FM would love to broadcast over the entire country, but as it stands, Motsweding FM has the maximum number of transmitters legally allowed by ICASA. Motsweding FM is an SABC Radio Station and thereby is allocated transmitters in certain areas only. These transmitters have a designated wattage strength which allows a specific footprint over a given area only. By law, we are not allowed to exceed this allocation.
